Sarah Green, Manager Sarah's Dream and sufferer of Cerebral Palsy

Sarah, one of the managers of this charity had a bit of a tough time with her Cerebral Palsy at school with having to use a wheelchair at times and wondering what other people would say. She managed to overcome these obstacles, particularly when she got to college when she realised that many people did not care that she had a disability and so she felt very comfortable. However, she thought that she might have some problems in her lessons as she had to have someone there to make sure she got all the notes that she needed and that some students may make fun of her for this as well as having to have extra time in exams.

One thing that seems awful to many people is the fact that she often did not get invited on holidays with friends as they thought that she would not be able to cope with her disability. However this was proved wrong when Sarah attended a walking holiday to the Peak District and she spent the week sleeping under the stars in  tent.

Although she had to take regular breaks in order to catch her breath or to rest her hips for a bit she managed to walk a couple of miles each day. For most people someone with a disability may not be able to achieve something as simple as this but we know they can and Sarah would gladly argue the point.
